Cadet Charges

Military prosecutors are pursuing charges against two senior Air Force Academy cadets who allegedly raped a freshman female cadet in a dormitory room last fall.

Steve Werner is the victim's lawyer. He says that a third cadet who reportedly knew about the attack but did not report it may also face charges.

Air Force Academy spokeswoman Pam Ancker says an Article 32 hearing is scheduled for May 14.

That's when officials will determine whether there's enough evidence to file charges.

Academy officials are declining to discuss the case.

Werner says his client is a cadet from Pennsylvania. She reported the rape but was later disciplined for fraternizing with senior cadets and for drinking.

She has left the school and has not decided whether she will return.
