Horse Rescue

That includes eleven horses that were cared for by Hunting Crest
Farms, a Black Forest-based horse rescue group. The group wanted to
keep the horses as payment for care.

Fixty-six horses were found starving on private property in
northwest Elbert County in mid-February. Two have since died.

The horses were owned by 68-year-old Lyle Jackson Harrison of
Aurora, who is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, a
felony.

If convicted, he faces up to 18 months in prison and a
100-thousand dollar fine. His trial is scheduled for July.
