Three people were thrown from a SUV on Highway 50 Wednesday night after the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle multiple times.
The rollover happened seven miles outside Canon City at mile marker 288.
According to State Patrol, the SUV rolled three and a half times. Troopers say the driver lost control, but do not have any further information on what caused the accident. Toxicology results are pending to determine whether or not alcohol was involved.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. He has been identified as Christopher Prater, 29, of Penrose.
A woman and 14-year-old boy, also from Penrose, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
