A homeowner was forced into his own closet at gunpoint while three men robbed his home.
Ordered to count to 1,000 forward and back before leaving the closet, the victim was told that if he exited a second too soon--he would be killed.
Police say the victim had stopped by his house off West Woodmen Thursday afternoon to let his dog out, and left his garage door open while he briefly stepped inside his home. The gunmen followed him into his home through the open garage and cornered him.
While the victim stood in the closet, the men ransacked his home.
As soon as the homeowner believed it was safe to leave the closet, he ran to a neighbor's house and called police.
The three suspects are described as black men in their 20s, between 5-foot-8 and 6 feet tall.
If you know anything about the crime, call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
