Two students at the Youth and Family Charter School in Pueblo were cited for carrying knives during the past few weeks, according to a police report.
An officer was sent to the school, located on the 1900 block of Valley Drive, on Wednesday because one male was found to be carrying a black folding knife. According to the police report, the facility was doing a random check of students when the male emptied the knife onto a table along with everything else in his pockets.
The blade was turned over to police and the male was cited.
In the police report, the officer writes that the school coordinator also informed them of another male carrying a knife during a previous incident. The coordinator had kept the brown folding lock knife in his drawer since January 27, when it fell out of the student’s front picket during a fight.
That student was also cited.
The officer also discovered that one of the two males was wanted on two active warrants. That student was taken to see a Municipal Court Judge.
