Updated: Sun 9:34 PM, Apr 13, 2003

Among the POW's found, are two Apache helicopter pilots who were shot down last month. Pilots Dave Williams and Ron Young were taken prisoner in the first battle in the war against Iraqi Republican Guard forces around the cities of Kerbala and Al Hillah. Though both pilots ran, they were captured a day later.

Iraqi television broadcast pictures of the downed helicopter and of Yound and Williams.

The five other rescued POW's were part of the 507th Maintenance Division, the same group from which Jessica Lynch was captured. The group was ambushed March 23rd near Nasiriyah. Lynch was rescued at an Iraqi hospital April 1st with several injuries. She is now recovering at the Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C..
