Last month's historic snowstorm will do a lot to delay the start of the wildfire season along the Front Range. But experts say fire hazards will still reach dangerous levels in parts of the state this summer.
A report issued yesterday by the Rocky Mountain Area Predictive
Services says the entire Rocky Mountain region faces an above average risk of fire because of the ongoing drought. But, federal fire officials also say we probably will not see a repeat of last year's disasterous early wildfire season.
The potential for wildfires is greatest in parts of Wyoming and northwestern Colorado.
