There are four small wildfires burning in Las Animas County. Mike Curro from the Las Animas County Communication’s Office says all four fires are around 3 acres in size. The causes of the fires are under investigation at this time. Curro says that the area did see lightning last night, but it is unknown if lighting caused these fires. As of right now, no homes or structures are in danger. Crews are expected to fight the fires until night falls and will resume again in the morning.
