It was Palin's second time in Colorado since she was named McCain's running mate about two and a half weeks ago. The country is still getting to know her.
When we asked around, potential voters in Colorado Springs said they either love Palin or loathe her, but what most can agree on is that Palin is popular.
As the first woman republican vice presidential nominee, she's grabbing headlines, gracing magazine covers and now there's even a Sarah Palin action figure.
According to one poll, she's more popular among voters than either of the two candidates running for president.
"People relate to her," said UCCS political science professor Josh Dunn. He said many admire her rise to the GOP ticket.
"She's down to earth. I can relate to her better than other candidates at this point," said Springs resident Shauna Catt.
Not everyone, though, is sold on the Sarah surge. "She doesn't appeal to me," said Sean Vigil, Springs resident.
Agree with her or not on the issues, Dr. Dunn said Palin has a likeable quality. "She appears exotic. You see pictures of her killing a moose. She took on a ‘good old boy's’ network. There’s something dramatic about that."
Mothers like Molly Geronazzo told 11 News that Palin is like her. "She's a hockey mom. She’s running household and doing all her political stuff. That impresses me."
Some supporters still have a few questions; critics have a lot. The nation is really just getting to know her. One big question: can the Sarah surge last until November?
