After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. The first birds in line to get the vaccine at the Pueblo Zoo were the African Crowned Cranes. The miniature horses and donkey received booster shots.
Last year, a golden eagle at the Pueblo Zoo contracted the disease. In the second year of the Virus, there are usually more cases. Veterinarians say it's just too dangerous to wait and see how the disease could affect other zoo animals.
