Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin rallied in Colorado Springs on Saturday. It was their second stop of their Road to Victory Rally tour. Now Senator Barack Obama volunteers say they are going to have to step up their game.

"Go Obama!" said Obama Volunteer Megan Crowe.

"Go Obama!" said Obama Volunteer Dario Murphy.

According to the Colorado Secretary of State there are more registered Republicans than Democrats, but at one point earlier this year the number of unaffiliated voters surpassed both.

"I think the Republican party has simply lost its way," said Obama Volunteer Mike LeMay.

The slip in the number of registered Republican voters is one of the reasons McCain and Palin decided to rally in Colorado Springs and why Obama volunteers went door to door all weekend.

"If they answer the door with a smile sometimes they're more apt to listen," said Crowe.

Volunteers spent hours persuading voters to pick Obama and getting them to register. The deadline in October 6TH.

"Obama definitely needs to come to Colorado Springs," said Murphy.

Obama volunteers say Obama needs to come to Colorado Springs before going anywhere else in Colorado. "Up in Denver or in Boulder or down in Pueblo, that's Obama country," said LeMay.

Volunteers say they are making a difference in a presidential election that will be very close.

Wounder if the volunteer ""Dario Murphy" as in ""Go Obama!" said Obama Volunteer Dario Murphy." is any relation to the Dario Murphy just convicted of shooting at police officers.
