Air Force Academy Changes

By: Associated Press

The Air Force chief of staff says one of the new female senior officers at the Air Force Academy will watch over every sexual assault case to ensure each is handled properly.

Colonel Debra Gray is the incoming vice commandant of cadets and is to arrive next month. General John Jumper says her job will include ombudsman type of duties where she will have a staff that includes medics and lawyers and first responders, so anyone who does come forward will have an advocate right off the bat.

Previously, cadets could report assaults without identifying themselves through a cadet program.
