Colorado Springs police report a man wearing a disguise walked into a local bank Friday afternoon, and walked out with cash he demanded from tellers inside.

Police have arrested 48-year-old Earl Anderson in connection to the robbery.

It happened at the Wells Fargo Bank on Garden of the Gods Road Friday afternoon around 3:00 p.m.

A CSPD spokesperson said witnesses watched the suspect drive away and described his truck to police, who ultimately spotted it on the East Side of town near Fountain Road and Powers Boulevard.

Officers arrested Anderson after witnesses identified him as the robber.

"There were no injuries reported nothing like that happened inside the bank. No shots were fired. As I mentioned, there was talk of a weapon, but none was displayed," said Lt. David Whitlock.

Anderson was taken to the county jail, and booked on robbery charges.

Police report bank robberies are down this year from the same time a year ago. 8 out of ten carried out have been solved.

Earl is a good man, something tells me that there must have been something seriously wrong for him to resort to something like this. He has a daughter that he loves very much and I cant see him doing anything to jeapordize their relationship. What happened here?

Earl, is a very good man, and this is totally out of charccter for him. He is trully a nice person???? I can't understand it, he must have been desperate to have done such a thing. I will pray for this man!

Earl is a very close friend of my family... a very sweet and loving man. This is such a shock and my prayers are with him.

All I say is that Earl must of been under some Extreme Pressures to resort to this. Earl has servicing my solar system on my house for the past 10 years now; i have always known him as soft spoken and polite. For a man of 7ft tall, he has always been known to me as the Gentle Giant.
