Colorado Springs Police are investigating a string of vehicle vandalism cases in the Northwest part of the city. At least 27 cars were damaged between Saturday night and Sunday evening, according to police.
Vandals slashed tires and broke some car windows. It happened in 6 locations including on the 26000 block of Main Street, the 2600 block of Tremont Street, the 500 block of East Jefferson Street, the 3900 block of Vondelpark Place, the 3100 block of Sinton Road and the 3400 block of Sinton Road.
Police say there are ways to protect cars.
“Park their vehicles in lighted areas and remain alert in the neighborhood. If they do see anything suspicious, to notify the police right away. If possible they can also park their vehicle in a locked garage,” said Sgt. Larry Herbert.
Police say they are investigating the crimes and the person responsible would be facing a Felony Criminal Mischief charge if arrest.
