About 640 Fort Carson 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment soldiers reenlist in the Army Friday morning.
Most of soldiers have spent at least a year or two years deployed in Iraq. The soldiers vowed never to leave a fallen comrade or accept defeat, during the reenlistment ceremony.
“I love my job. I love the Army life,” said SPC Aaron Ziegler.
SPC Lenea Lupe said her husband’s support allows her to serve in the Army. She is the mother of 2 young boys.
“My main reason was to have my boys grow up in a safe environment you know. Doing this for them was pretty much why I did this in the first place,” said SPC Lupe.
The 3rd ACR will be leaving the Mountain Post soon, for Texas. According to Fort Carson, 284 soldiers who re-upped Friday will remain at Fort Carson with another unit. The Regiment achieved 135 percent of its annual goal for reenlistment.
