Randal Kent Rosacker spent summers and Christmas holidays in his birthplace of Colorado.

He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing in the state, and planned to return to Colorado for good someday. Instead, the body of the Marine Corporal will be flown to Colorado for burial.

The 21-year-old died Sunday in fighting near the Iraqi city of An Nasiriyah. The attack also killed 22-year-old Lance Corporal Thomas Slocum of Thornton and seven other Marines.

Rosacker grew up in Pueblo and Colorado Springs as the oldest among two sisters and five cousins. His grandparents live in Alamosa. Burial is planned at the Colorado State Veterans Center at Homelake near Monte Vista.
