Operation Iraqi Freedom is inspiring patriotism throughout Southern Colorado. Workers at a company called Flagline.com say that flag sales have nearly quadrupled since the war began.
The company is based in an office right near Acacia Park in downtown Colorado Springs. And employees are scrambling to fill all the orders.
And it's not just Old Glory that's making waves---They say service banners are becoming popular again. The flags were originally made during World War II and feature a white background, red border, and stars in the middle. Blue stars represent the number of loved ones deployed. Gold stars represent soldiers who have died in action.
"They've really made a comeback. It was just recently in the fall that manufacturers started making them and people have really taken to them. They just love them," says Jennifer Austgen of Flagline.com.
