Colorado Springs Police detectives say it was likely a road rage incident that ended up with a shooting, and young man paralyzed.

C.S.P.D. Detective Steve Noblitt said, "With a case like this, very difficult, with the fact that the victim didn't know who was shooting at them. It was just a car driving by."

On March 28, 2004, around 1:40 a.m., Aaron Cerna was driving east on Garden of the Gods Road. Around the intersection of Garden of the Gods Road and Chestnut, a shouting match happened between Cerna and another car. Cerna was shot in the neck. The impact made him lose control of his car, and he crashed into the former Hungry Farmer restaurant (now Ranch House American Grill & Market).

Police are looking for anyone who may know who was behind this shooting. Call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP in Colorado Springs or 542-STOP in Pueblo. If your tip leads to an arrest, you could earn a cash reward.
