A crook broke into a woman's car and went on a shopping spree with her credit car and it's all caught on video.

The victim is a former cop, which just shows anyone can be a target.

The crook broke into the car parked in a driveway, used the garage door opener to get inside. The crook broke into the car parked inside the garage and made away with a purse. All this happened while the family was home asleep.

Springs Police showed 11 News surveillance video from the Wal-Mart on 8th Street in Colorado Springs. The woman was shown on tape leaving the store with a cart full of groceries.

"Some of the things she purchases are men's boxer shorts and diapers," said Detective Owen Scott.

The $200 she spent, Springs Police said, was using someone else's credit card. That credit card that was stolen out of a woman's car that was parked inside a closed garage

Detective Scott says there's been a rash of car break-ins in the Rockrimmon neighborhood. The crooks are stealing purses and credit cards from the inside the cars and then going on a shopping spree.

"Take your property out of your car. Don't leave anything visible," said Det. Scott.

Video tape showed the woman leaving in a light-colored sedan.

If you know who the woman is, Springs Police want to hear from you. Call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

Would be nicer if the picture was bigger to have any chance of identifying the woman in it...
