The Pueblo County Coroner says they have completed an autopsy on the man's body found Tuesday morning in the Arkansas River in Pueblo. The coroner says based on the physical evidence found, the body is believed to be that of 31-year-old Ryan Baker. The cause of death was determined to be a drowning.

Around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, a man and his wife spotted a body while they were fishing between the Santa Fe bridge and the pedestrian bridge at Moffat Street.

The body was recovered about half a mile downstream from where Ryan Baker was last seen. He slipped into the river early Friday morning along the kayak course. Rescuers have been on the river every day since but had yet to turn up any sign of him.

Ryan Baker's family says it's hard now knowing Ryan is gone forever, but they finally have closure, something they've been praying for.

"He was a great person, he would do anything for anyone," said Ryan’s step-dad Brian Strawbridge.

"He loved to help people, would give the shirt off his back," said Ryan’s brother Immanuel Sherrill.

They're also giving thanks to the many search crews who spent the weekend scouring the river.

"We just want to let the community know that we thank you for all your help and your support," Strawbridge said.

Baker also leaves behind a 6 year-old daughter who lives in Florida.

A memorial fund has been set up to help pay for funeral expenses. It's called the Ryan Baker Memorial Fund, you can donate at any Wells Fargo Bank.
