Golf Equipment

Some golfers who don't mind playing in the sand are getting some help from golf merchants around Colorado Springs. Lieutenant Colonel Chris Palmer, an orthopedic surgeon at the Air Force Academy, asked some golf shops to donate equipment to his military group before he was deployed to Kuwait last month.

He thought hitting golf balls might be a good way to break up the long
days in the desert.

Word of the effort spread, and yesterday Palmer's wife shipped
off tens of thousands of dollars of equipment, including about 75
drivers and woods and five complete sets of irons.
