The high country could receive up to a foot and a half of fresh powder today from a storm that's making its way across Colorado.
The weather pattern is expected to bring some 18 inches to parts of the Rockies before it moves out of the state Thursday.
National Weather Service meteorologist Troy Lindquist says a mix or rain and snow is falling in lower elevations, including along the Front Range where wet, slushy roads are reeking havoc for motorists.
Lindquist says the forecast calls for more storms throughout the weekend and extending into Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
