A tiny puppy, just weeks old, has died after authorities say it was tossed around like a football by two Colorado teenagers.
Edgewater police say a witness saw two teens throwing the puppy like a football. The witness then took the puppy to the animal hospital where it later died.
Veterinarians say the three-week-old Pekingese cross had bruises on its lungs and the lungs were filled with fluid. Vets say there is no medicine that could fix the puppy's injuries and the abuse was too severe for the puppy to recover.
Police are still looking for the two teens who could face felony charges.
