Weather watchers say the snowpack this week reached the peak that was recorded last season, and more snow is headed to Colorado. Climatologist Klaus Wolter of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says it looks pretty good for the week.
Wolter says the snowpack this week matched the highest levels recorded last year, and that was at the end of March. The National Weather Service today said a potent winter storm will bring winds and snow to the mountains of northern Colorado tomorrow and tomorrow night, with depths of up to 18 inches expected.
Yesterday snowpack levels were at 77% of average statewide, up from 71% at the beginning of the month.
