Maybe women are no longer looking for romance, but are looking for Rover. An American Kennel Club survey finds 90% of women would like to see their dog's characteristics in their significant other.
Diana Drouillard says she wants “Loyalty, companionship and fun to be around.” Those were among the top qualities women are looking for in men and in their dogs. Other desired characteristics were always being in a good mood, willing to spend time with them and eager to eat their cooking.
Canine qualities men want in women are always happy to see them, not getting mad when sports are on and being up for doing anything.
But what about those similar qualities we aren’t searching for? Jason Lucky says his dogs are “demanding and take up a lot of time.” He laughs and says his wife is very similar.
The survey also found that 60% of dog owners said if they split-up with their significant other, they would fight for canine custody.
