A new poll shows support for a proposed amendment to the state Constitution to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
The poll conducted last week for The Denver Post shows 55 percent of the 625 people polled favored the proposal, and 36 percent opposed it.
The same poll showed 50 percent of respondents favor domestic partnerships that would allow same-sex couples to enjoy similar legal benefits to what married couples enjoy.
Forty-one percent said they oppose it.
The poll conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling and Research had a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.
