A Colorado Springs businessman is facing a federal grand jury indictment over an alleged conflict of interest involving the Fort Carson Army post.

The US attorney's office says 64-year-old Robert C.-Stack worked as the civilian Director of the Range Division at Fort Carson, and approved roughly 150-thousand dollars in payments from the post's artillery range to his own businesses.

Stack reportedly worked at Fort Carson at the same time he and his wife served as managers and members of two limited liability companies, which owned property containing Red Canyon Quarry.

The companies had an agreement with Rocky Mountain Materials and Asphalt to pay royalties to Red Canyon to operate the quarry.

Stack allegedly approved requests for and reimbursements to Rocky Mountain Materials.
