A second disturbance will bring another round of snow showers to the Front Range this afternoon and early evening. While not as heavy as yesterday, some additional light accumulations over the higher terrain will be possible, including Teller and Northern El Paso Counties. Highs in the 30s and 40s will feel colder when factoring a blustery northwest wind. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
A proposal that would ban recognition of gay marriage in Colorado could end up before voters in November's election.
But so could a domestic partnership proposal that would essentially allow same-sex couples to be treated the same as married couples under state law.
Coloradans for Marriage, a coalition of church and family groups, wants to add a definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman to the state's constitution. Executive director Jon Paul says the two proposals don't conflict and the group won't be taking sides in the domestic partnership debate at the state Capitol.
Democratic lawmakers want to refer the domestic partnership proposal to voters and can do so with the support of a majority of lawmakers.
Backers of the amendment need to collect 68,000 valid voter signatures to put the measure on the ballot.
