Highs in the 30s and 40s will feel colder when factoring a blustery northwest wind. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
It's well known that teen drivers are involved in more accidents that adults. Now a study shows that the victims include far more than the young person behind the wheel.
About one third of the people killed in automobile crashes involving teen drivers were not riding with them. They were pedestrians or occupants of other vehicles.
The analysis by the Triple-A Foundation for Traffic Safety finds that nearly 31,000 people were killed in crashes involving 15-to-17-year-old drivers over a ten year period. Safety groups say the numbers highlight the need for states to strengthen laws which put restrictions on new teen-age drivers and improve training programs to make them better at the wheel.
