COSMIX MOVING FORWARD

There are some signs of progress on COSMIX.

After six months, of work the first phase makes i-25 two lanes wider between Garden of the Gods and Fillmore.

Crews are now working on the Rockrimmon-Nevada area, which developers say is the largest and longest part of the COSMIX project.

This spring will see the addition of bridges over Mark Dabling and Monument Creek which will handle frontage road traffic on either side of I-25. Developers say drivers can expect major traffic congestion underneath the highway during this phase, which should last the better part of two years.

Still, project representatives say they cannot report any major setbacks, and the project is on schedule to finish in 2008.
