A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through 9pm Wednesday. Heavy rain is possible throughout the day, and this combined with already saturated soils could lead to further flash flood problems both near and away from all area burn scars. Stay with 11 News throughout the day for weather updates.
An Ignacio man who is one of four suspects in the theft of explosives from a site near Albuquerque, New Mexico, is scheduled to appear in federal court in Denver Friday for a preliminary hearing.
Forty-four-year-old Leslie Brown, his 49-year-old brother Dave Brown and 32-year-old Eric Armstrong each face federal charges including possession of stolen explosives and being felons in possession of explosives. Authorities haven't released the name of the fourth suspect.
Dave Brown and Armstrong both had preliminary hearings in New Mexico federal court this week, where witnesses testified that they handled explosives in a way that could have sent shrapnel flying a half-mile in all directions.
Authorities say some explosive charges were found at Leslie Brown's home in Ignacio, which is in far southwestern Colorado. An arrest affidavit says Brown admitted to participating in the theft and gave authorities the location where the other three suspects were arrested late last week.
