Early morning gunfire destroys windows in at least three cars on the east side of Colorado Springs Monday, including blowing out a window in a police cruiser.
Springs police say one victim reported their car's window had been shot out around 12:19 a.m. Monday morning. The victim reported being shot at in the vicinity of Academy Boulevard and Airport Road. When officers arrived at the scene, one police cruiser was also shot at. The gunfire destroyed a window on the cruiser, leaving the officer inside uninjured.
Authorities report police searched the area for evidence and possible suspects, however, no arrests have been made.
While officers were searching for the suspect, another citizen reported that their car window had also been shot out while driving through the same area during the same time frame.
