Early morning gunfire destroys windows in at least three cars on the east side of Colorado Springs Monday, including blowing out a window in a police cruiser.

Springs police say one victim reported their car's window had been shot out around 12:19 a.m. Monday morning. The victim reported being shot at in the vicinity of Academy Boulevard and Airport Road. When officers arrived at the scene, one police cruiser was also shot at. The gunfire destroyed a window on the cruiser, leaving the officer inside uninjured.

Authorities report police searched the area for evidence and possible suspects, however, no arrests have been made.

While officers were searching for the suspect, another citizen reported that their car window had also been shot out while driving through the same area during the same time frame.

Anyone with information on these incidents is encouraged to call the police at 444-7000, or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP. You do not have to give your name and could earn up to $1,000 in cash for information given to Crime Stoppers.

That was funny. 'love your father, Ben Dover.' I didn't know a BB gun could shoot out a car window. This is going to be an excuse to bring on another 100 cops we don't need in this city. I cant wait until gas gets so expensive people stop driving and the city looses a huge segment of its budget from the absence of the income produced from all the traffic citations issued here. Maybe then people will see how friendly cops really are when they shuffle and franticly look for ways to offset the loss of income for the city due to less traffic citations bringing in big money. This could be pretty exciting, if you consider the job loss and unemployment in Colo. Spgs. crime could go way up ... which means more cops. YAY!!!
