Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
It is hoping to emerge from Chapter Eleven bankruptcy protection as soon as April.
The job cuts are part of two and a-half billion dollars in
costs to be eliminated -- and the first since new chairman and
C-E-O Michael Capellas came aboard.
WorldCom, which is losing about 200 (m) million a month, has
already been trying to cut costs by asking the bankruptcy court to
let it vacate some leases and renegotiate or get out of some
supplier contracts.
WorldCom has about 60-thousand employees after cutting nearly
21-thousand positions last year. That followed the largest-ever
bankruptcy filing in U-S history amid a massive accounting scandal.
No word yet on how the layoffs will impact workers in the Springs.
