High winds strong enough to be called "hurricane force" are still causing travel trouble in Colorado, not to mention a few pedestrian problems as well.
The Colorado Department of Transportation says high-profile, light and empty vehicle should NOT use Interstate 25 or U-S Highway 287 into Wyoming, because of winds of at least 65 miles-per-hour.
Meantime, southbound I-25 is blocked near the Pueblo Boulevard exit (number 94) because of a rolled semi-truck.
The Wind Technology Center near Golden clocked winds of 98 miles-per-hour, and Kenosha Pass had gusts of 95. Winds of 88 miles-per-hour were reported southwest of Boulder, and Genessee had 75-mile-per-hour gusts.
The winds also blew over an empty single-engine plane at the Jefferson County airport.
No one was hurt.
------
Semi-trucks were forced to pull over along U-S Highway 36 from Denver to Boulder because of strong winds and low visibility from blowing dust and snow.
U-S Highway Six remains closed over Loveland Pass due to wintry weather, and chain laws are in place for some vehicles on Interstate 70 near the Eisenhower Tunnel.
It promises to be a wintery week, with snow expected late Tuesday into Wednesday for much of the front range. Temperatures will drop dramatically as well. Highs Wednesday are expected to be in the single digits.
