Lacy Miller Case

A Larimer County District judge has continued a motion to unseal affidavits in the murder of a university student.

Judge James Hiatt says unsealing the documents and releasing a gag order could jeopardize the investigation and lead to prejudice at trial.

Twenty-two-year-old Jason Peder Clausen has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and second-degree kidnapping in the death of Lacy Miller.

Authorities suspect Clausen may have posed as a police officer to pull over the 20-year-old Miller. She was driving to her Fort Collins home after dropping off a friend Jan.18.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan had asked the judge to release Clausen's arrest photo in addition to the affidavit.

The paper's first request was rejected last week.

Clausen's preliminary hearing is set for March 26. He's being held without bond at the Larimer County Detention Center.
