All four UCCS campuses will see a tuition increase starting the fall semester of 2014.

Undergraduate students will pay an extra $240, a 3.2 percent increase from current rates.

UCCS says this year's tuition increase is its lowest in eight years and is far below limits set by the State of Colorado for 2014.

"We are doing everything possible to contain costs, maintain high quality and provide students with options," Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak said. "We know that students and families often face financial challenges and have to make difficult choices. We are committed to working with every qualified student interested in attending UCCS. We want UCCS to be affordable."

UCCS freshman and sophomore students who are enrolled in 30 hours and have Colorado residency will pay $7,710 for the 2014-2015 school year compared to $7,470 in 2013-2014. Tuition for juniors and seniors will increase from $270 to $384.

Colorado-resident graduate students will see a 3.5 percent tuition increase.

UCCS enrolls about 10,500 students on campus annually and another 2,000 in online programs.
