Two teens are recovering in the hospital after police say they were rear-ended by a semi-truck.
The accident shut down westbound Highway 47 at Dillon Drive in Pueblo for several hours. It was reopened just before 7 a.m.
Police say two 17-year-olds were stopped at a red light just before 2:30 a.m. when the semi hit their vehicle. Police believe the semi-truck driver was not paying attention; alcohol, drugs and speeding are not suspected at this time.
Both boys were taken to the hospital. The driver is being treated for a serious head injury. The passenger sustained minor injuries.
The semi-truck driver could be charged pending the results of the investigation.
