Two Colorado Springs businesses were robbed within 15 minutes of each other Thursday morning.

The first was the Kentucky Fried Chicken on Dorothy Dr. near Voyager Pkwy. and N. Academy Blvd. Police say a man dressed in black showed a gun and demanded cash from the registers.

He left the scene in a silver SUV and was last seen going north on I-25. Nobody was injured.

The second robbery was at the Safeway on S. Nevada Ave. Police there say the suspect kept his hands in his pockets and told the pharmacist to give him prescription medications. He repeatedly told the pharmacist to hurry.

The pharmacist did not see a weapon. The man left the store and got in a bright red two-door car with silver colored wheel covers.

He's described as a white man about 6 feet tall. He weighs about 170 pounds and looked to be in his 30s. He was wearing a black stocking cap, black wide paneled, down-style jacket and blue jeans.

Police have not said if they think the robberies are connected.

If you know anything about either robbery, call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
