I support what Carrie says. She dont need to learn the oath of enlistment, common sense knows it is worng and lies and everyone joins the military for the money and education. Thats no secret. Take $20,000 away for enlistment and no one would enlist!

I have lived through WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, The war in the Balkans, The first Gulf War, War in Afganistan, Iraq War. We had peace after all the wars we won, but none after the ones we have lost due to the cowardly protesters. May all of you go to hell and leave our Military to do its job.

The war is a farce! The men and women that are over there dying or committing suicide is because of the OIL not freedom. The people in this country need to be honest and admit that this president is only doing this to keep him and his cronies rich and the next president will do the same! If you think for one minute that your vote counts, you're only fooling yourselves. This country has and will be the way it's always been...the rich stay rich and everyone else will struggle and the rich people will find another way to take something else away from the ones who are not.

Not to get anyone upset but do you think that the war in Iraq and Afghanistan is really causing losses for the true terrorists? The ones that worry me are those nice quiet ones that go about their daily business here and in Europe and the middle east not drawing attention to themselves. These are the ones that need to be found and there is no army in the world that can do that. I did my time in the service in the Viet Nam era, not officially a war but it was, the one reason for a country going to war is very simple, MONEY, for a chosen few. I do appreciate the service women and men who put their lives on the line but you have to realize it is for money first and the safety of the US as an after thought. I do hope that this does end soon and they come home safely. I make it a point to tell each one I see in uniform to be safe and quite a few say thanks.

Carrie, Bill Clinton's sorry backside knew where Bin Laden was too. Forces were on site ready to take him out and he did NOTHING! How must we stay over there? Are YOU there? I'm thinking not. Maybe you need to learn the Oath of Enlistment and what it means.

Also, I do support our troops, I just don't support the War that is long overdue. How long must we stay over there? This is very disturbing to me. Just because you have a loved one fighting the war doen't mean you have to support Bush's love for power and war games. This has gone too far and I'm sick of it. Bush knows where Bin Laden is, their families were friends back in the day... HELLO! I support the military in their efforts, but I don't have to sit here and listen to how Bush is doing such a great job defending our country against terrorists because he isn't in the front lines fighting this war. He has done this country more harm than good. He is the one responsible for 9/11. It's no secret... do some research! Kudos to those military families that support their loved ones, but how dare you support Bush! You should be ashamed! If my husband was in Iraq, I'd be furoius with Bush for putting him in dangers way. I'd be protesting on the front steps of Bush every day if I was you!

for those who disagree with protestors...remember that it was protestors who began the Revolutionary War to let this land become the United States of America. Remember that it was protestors who saw that the Civil War began the call towards the end of slavery and eventually to more civil rights long overdue. Remember it was protestors who began the right for women to vote. Remember it was protestors who began the end the Vietnam conflict. Remember that protestors have very good reasons to do and say their thoughts out loud for the good of all people!

President Bush is an idiot. Thank God he is out soon. Maybe the next President will get us out of Itaq and let them blow themselves up.

Good post Jessie. Those of you still drinking the neocon kool-aid are the ones who need to get your head out of the sand and realize that you have been had by Bush and company.

I love my country! All protesters out are able to protest because brave men & women FIGHT against terrorists so you can moan & whine. I'm proud of our President! He has the courage to do what's right for ALL people in the world & our country. He makes the terrorists realize we are a strong country & will not stand for oppression. I thank God every night that there are men & women who are willing to possibly die so that I remain free and that my children will remain free. They don't know me, yet they are willing to do what none of us want to do. It is not only the military that sacrifices their lives, it is their entire family. KC, D, and Jessie instead of complaining try to thank people who might pay the ultimate sacrifice so you can complain. You have a freedom because of these men and women. Jeanna, I can't thank you and your husband enough. You both help make sure my children & husband are safe. God Bless You! May God watch over you, always. Thank you all military people!

I have the utmost respect for anyone serving in our armed forces, but to say that they are fighting in Iraq for OUR FREEDOM is just not right. We made a mistake by going over there and now those kids that are left need to come home. Over 4 thousand military killed and 100 times that injured?? Was it really worth it?? Come on now...lets have some change and actually focus on us Americans here at home!!!

i'm still waiting for gas prices, food prices, and healthcare to go down..those who support pres. bush are u waiting for anything? Since Dec. i have spent 1890 just to have medical ins. I have spent over 4,000 since then in medical bills. In 04 when my daughter was born gas was 1.69 i had put that in her baby book. Were giving Iraq all this money to rebuild so the terrorists can blow it up. What are we getting. How about take some of that Oil. I have felt no safter than I did before 03. My family has always felt safe. It's time we start dealing with the issues in U.S. and leave iraq alone. If they want to kill each other then let them. If the Myanmar junta dont want us there then leave. Let them die. U cant give help where help isnt wanted and pushed away. Stop waisting taxpayers money Pres. Bush

D, if something were to happen to my husband, I would blame exactly who I should blame - the terrorists. I would not turn around and attack the government or leader who is trying to keep my country free. I was not complaining about the protesters right to protest, I was saying that those who do not serve in our armed forces should not presume to speak for them as did the gentleman in the article I was responding to.
