Forty-six Fort Carson soldiers who died in Iraq and Afghanistan will be honored at Fort Carson.

The names of those fallen soldiers will be added to the Global War on Terrorism Memorial located in Kit Carson Park on May 23 at 10 a.m.

Fort Carson annually commemorates those soldiers from the Mountain Post who have lost their lives fighting the Global War on Terrorism.

Maj. Gen. Mark Graham, Division West (First Army) and Fort Carson commanding general, will be the keynote speaker for this year’s ceremony.

Family members of those being honored have been invited to attend.

Others wishing to attend should go to Fort Carson's main gate on Colorado Highway 115, south Academy Boulevard. From there, attendees will be directed to parking that will not require access to Fort Carson.

Gate 1 will then be closed from 9:55 a.m. to 11 a.m. Traffic on Highway 115 will be detoured during the ceremony.
