Springs police say around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday an armed man kicked in his ex-girlfriends front door while their four-month-old child was inside.

It happened on the 3300 block of Verde Drive near South Chelton in Colorado Springs.

Police say he threatened several people in the home and then assaulted his ex-girlfriend. When police arrived to the scene he ran from the house.

Police have now identified him as 21-year-old Keith Burrell, 6'1" tall weighing 200 pounds. He is wanted for first degree burglary and felony menacing.

It is a shame that the CSPD have been aware of this thug for months and that it had to come to this in order for him to be stopped. I hope he rots in jail for being a sorry excuse for a man. The Springs should take domestic violence more seriously as this could have easily been a homicide not just assult and battery. The lack of action taken for this situation is inexcusable.
