Rex Cornell has lived in Canon City for ten years. It's been going around the city the Arkansas River is on the brink of flooding. His home is right across the street from the rising waters. Cornell says the water gets higher and higher each day and thanks to rising temperatures, the snow in the Rocky Mountains is starting to melt.

Cornell isn't concerned about water flowing over its' banks. He has his eyes on drainage ditches that flow along the street in front of his house. Excess water from the ditches flow into the Arkansas River. If the water keeps rising, it will clog the drains, causing water to flow in rather than out, flooding the street and possibly Cornell's home.

Cornell is one of many. According to a recent report, over 60,000 homes are within a flood zone in the state of Colorado.
