The Pikes Peak Region continues to see both light rain and snow, even a mix in some places so far in the early afternoon hours. Eventually this afternoon, the rain will change all into snow for the Pikes Peak region, while areas to the south and east start picking up on rain. By the overnight hours, all will be in the snow category. This looks to end by the early morning hours on Sunday. Heavy fog in a remote area of British Columbia is preventing investigators from reaching the site of an avalanche that killed seven skiers Monday.
Three of the dead were Americans. One was a 49-year-old Littleton man. The two others were from California.
All were part of a group brought into the remote area by helicopter.
One other skier was hospitalized after yesterday's avalanche. Survivors spent the night at a remote chalet. It's not clear yet how they'll be evacuated.
Avalanche conditions in the area had been rated as hazardous Monday.
