More fallout for District Attorney John Newsome over video that appeared to show him drinking several beers before driving a county vehicle.

Friday morning, fellow Republican Dan May will officially announce his candidacy.

May was defeated by Newsome in the previous election. Until now, Newsome was not facing any fellow Republicans in his run for re-election.

I would like to know why Newsome has not faced charges? If he was some joeblow off the street he would have been put in jail. Just goes to show you how this city really works. If your a politician, cop, lawyer you can do what ever you want and get away with it.

Interesting, pretty convenient that May decides to run right after all the media-hype with Newsome having a few beers. Makes one wonder...
