The man accused of hitting a 59-year-old woman over the head with a piece of wood, tying her up and kidnapping her in her own car this weekend, appeared in court Tuesday.

Timothy Clapp, 41, could face 108 years in prison. He is charged with second degree kidnapping. That alone could put him in jail up to 48 years. Clapp is also charged with assault, aggravated robbery and theft. Clapp could face up to 60 years on those charges.

11 News learned from an arrest affidavit, Clapp allegedly hit Garnet Wright over the head with a piece of wood rather than a brick as previously reported. Clapp then tied up Wright with tape.

The affidavit also states Wright played unconscious. That is when she was able to free herself and was able to call police.

Wright was later rescued and Clapp was arrested.

Clapp will be back in court on May, 29.
