A wildfire is burning in Fremont County and is still not contained Tuesday afternoon.

The fire is burning 200 acres in a remote area, and no structures are threatened.

But because of possible wind shifts, crews have evacuated five homes in the area.

The fire is southwest of Canon City, off Indian Wells Road and Copper Gulch Road.

Josh, sorry for the loss. Hopefully the percipitation and light winds today will allow the fire fighters to tamp it out. It was less than 1/4 from my property..

Josh - I'm sorry for your loss - which property is yours? We just bought property up there as a get away place for the kids and us. We are lot 85 (500 Cottonwood). Do you know if it reached the Cottonwood cul-de-sac? Thanks for any information!

I could see the smoke to the east of my house in canon city area it looks to me to be around grape creek/copper gulch area the winds are coming in from the west to the east and smoke is very visable.

Fire reportedly started near Bear Lane and was burning toward Poverty Mountain. That is west of Copper Gulch a mile or so and south of US50.

Yes, I'm convinced someone is trying to burn down Colorado.

From my location in Penrose, I believe that the fire is Southwest of Canon city. Copper Gulch is located Southwest of the city.
