"In God We Trust"

Colorado may join at least three other states in requiring every school classrooms and public buildings to display the national motto ``In God We Trust.''

The bill would allow residents to sue a public school or agency that didn't post the motto. Other states have passed similar legislation since the 2001 terrorist attacks.

Republican Senator Bruce Cairns is sponsoring the Colorado bill.
He thinks many Americans have felt a renewed spirituality since the
September eleventh attacks.

But opponents think there are more important issues the Legislature should be dealing with. Democratic Senator Dan Grossman of Denver says lawmakers should focus on creating more jobs.
