Nearly 370 people who were forced to flee the hurricane-stricken Gulf Coast have now found refuge in the Denver area.
The latest group of 113 evacuees arrived early this morning at Buckley Air Force Base and were taken by buses to dorms at the former Lowry Air Force Base.
Governor Owens has said the state could get up to one-thousand evacuees.
Officials say evacuees will first regroup in dorms at the former Lowry Air Force Base, but eventually move elsewhere. Federal officials say they will pay their rent for up to 18 months.
