Police have captured an inmate who escaped from a minimum security prison in Trinidad earlier this week. 38-year-old Jeffrey Rotes was arrested early Saturday morning at his girlfriend's home in Colorado Springs.
A spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Corrections says Rotes' girlfriend also was arrested.
Rotes was serving an eight year term at the state prison in Trinidad for violating parole after an auto theft conviction in El Paso County.
Prison officials discovered Rotes had disappeared during a head count on Tuesday.
