A Texas constable is being held on $100,000 cash bond after allegedly crossing state lines to have sex with a child.
Canon City police arrested 62-year-old Larry Dale Floyd near a restaurant Thursday.
The Internet crimes against children unit says Floyd was seeking a child to meet for sexual relations, when he unknowingly contacted an undercover officer last month.
Authorities say Floyd made arrangements via e-mail to meet the child, then drove to Colorado.
Floyd was booked into the Fremont County Jail on suspicion of criminal solicitation, solicitation of child prostitution, enticement of a child, sexual assault on a child, pandering, inducement of child prostitution, and trafficking in children.
Floyd is an elected constable in Denton County, Texas Precinct Two.
He's reportedly held various Texas law enforcement positions during the past three decades.
